Diaconate Ordination

Six seminarians one step closer to priesthood

by MOSAIC Editorial Team

Six seminarians of Sacred Heart Major Seminary are one step closer to the priesthood. The six men were ordained transitional deacons on Saturday, April 12 during a Mass celebrated at the Sacred Heart Major Seminary Chapel by Auxiliary Bishop Robert J. Fisher. Ordained were Brother David Brokke, SOLT, John Carlin, Colin Fricke, Andrew Mabee, David Pellican, and Mark Tibai. Brother Brokke was ordained for the Society of our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity, while the remaining men were ordained for the Archdiocese of Detroit.

Each of these men, God willing, will be ordained to the priesthood next year. Five of the deacons have one year of theological studies remaining and are spending their summers in parish assignments across the Archdiocese of Detroit. Deacon Tibai has completed his theological studies and has been assigned as a full-time deacon.
