It's been a tradition at Sacred Heart for at least fifty years. On Friday evening, December 5, at 7:00 pm, the seminary will present its annual Christmas concert. Without fail, year after year, the concert is on the first Friday of December.
This year's production will feature selections from The Many Moods of Christmas, a world-wide holiday favorite arranged for mixed chorus and orchestra by Robert Shaw and Robert Russell Bennett. Guests will enjoy a variety of other chorale works, too. The light and fun concert will be conducted by Sacred Heart's music director, Dr. Ronald Prowse, who will skillfully direct Sacred Heart's standing liturgical choir, Schola Cantorum, as well as its Concert Chorale. Special guest will be the Michigan Sinfonietta, an orchestra of musicians mainly from the Ann Arbor area which has become a fast-favorite with concert guests.
If you missed last year's Christmas concert, consider marking your holiday calendar right now. If you are a veteran of the annual event, you know what an uplifting experience awaits you. And invite your family and friends to join you. No tickets are needed but a freewill offering will be asked. Join us in Sacred Heart's vintage auditorium, which has been filling up fast so consider coming a little early to ensure yourself a fine seat.
