Sacred Heart Director of Liturgical Music and Theology III seminarian featured nationally for dedication to musical instruction and study

Theology III seminarian Christian Flagstadt and Director of Liturgical Music Stephanie Nofar-Kelly were featured this week in a national highlight from Our Sunday Visitor on liturgical music programs across the country.

The two discussed the role of musical study at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in seminarian formation, especially in preparing them to serve at parishes.

“We are rediscovering the beauty of old chants and polyphony, and the old hymns,” Flagstadt said of his liturgical music study at the seminary.

OSV particularly highlights Nofar-Kelly’s and Flagstadt’s commitment to both the beauty of the sacred musical tradition and the creative inspiration to explore new musical possibilities within the Church.
