by Editorial Team

Name: Rev. Br. John of the Cross Costantino, FHS

Home Parish: St. John the Baptist Laveen, AZ and St. Mary of Redford Detroit, MI

Order: Franciscan Friars of the Holy Spirit

What was the highlight of your time at Sacred Heart Major Seminary?

The pilgrimage to the Holy Land following my first year as a graduate student (Theology I). Jesus' life came alive in an entirely new way and I could actually visualize what the Scriptures described.

What has been one or two highlights of your time serving as a transitional deacon?

Getting to preach has been my favorite part of being a deacon. I love explaining the Word of God and the Church's Tradition to our congregation.

How are you preparing for your priestly ordination?

Through prayer, learning how to say Mass, and finishing up my studies!

What kind of priest do you want to be?

I want to be a priest filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit who radiates the love of God.

What are you looking forward to after being ordained?

I am most excited to say Mass and hear Confessions.

Please join us in praying for Br. John of the Cross Costantino during his final months of preparation leading up to his ordination.
