by Editorial Team

Name: Juan Pablo Orozco Celaya

Home parish: Sacred Heart in Conroe, Texas

Home diocese: Companions of the Cross

What was the highlight of your time at Sacred Heart Major Seminary? Scripture classes with Dr. Mary Healy, Dr. Fastiggi, and Dr. Peters.

What has been one or two highlights of your time serving as a transitional deacon? Doing a procession and prayer ministry with adoration of the Blessed Sacrament has been very special. Also, being able to celebrate Baptism.

How are you preparing for your priestly ordination? My focus is to grow deeper in prayer and in the heart of Christ as shepherd.

What kind of priest do you want to be? I hope to be able to be a priest who is close to his people and empowered by the Holy Spirit to cast the fire of God upon the earth.

What are you looking forward to after being ordained? I cannot wait to hear Confessions.

Please join us in praying for Deacon Juan Pablo during his final months of preparation leading up to his ordination.
