Sacred Heart Graduates Ordained to the Priesthood

In the recent weeks, eight men of Sacred Heart Major Seminary received the sacrament of Holy Orders and joined the Sacred Priesthood. 

On June 1, 2019, Fr. Peter Teresa McConnell, FHS received ordination from Bishop Thomas J. Olmstead in the Diocese of Phoenix. Fr. McConnell is a priest with the Franciscan Friars of the Holy Spirit.

The following week, June 8, the Archdiocese of Detroit welcomed three new priests. Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron conferred the sacrament upon Fr. John McKenzie, Fr. Adam Nowak, and Fr. Derik Peterman in a special Mass held at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Detroit.

Just days after his installation as bishop, Bishop Donald J. Hying of the Diocese of Madison ordained Fr. William Van Wagner on June 28.

Fr. Matthew Wagner, Diocese of Winona-Rochester, also received ordination on June 28. Bishop John Quinn administered the rite of the sacrament.

Deacon Rodney Abasso and Deacon Perrin Atisha are scheduled to be ordained on July 6, 2019 for the Chaldean Diocese of St. Thomas the Apostle.
