When Deacon Miguel Perez was in college, he started asking some of the big questions: why am I here? Where am I headed? A particularly powerful retreat would help him find some of these answers.
“For the first time, I encountered the power of the Holy Spirit,” Dcn. Miguel says. “It was just such a life-giving retreat. I came out of the retreat with so much peace, so much joy.”
Thus began his commitment to learning more about his Catholic faith. He became more involved with Catholic organizations, took classes about the faith, and eventually visited with diocesan and religious priests — and something clicked when he met the Companions of the Cross.
Dcn. Miguel looks forward to his new ministry as a priest and the opportunities to “help people come to encounter the Lord, grow in their faith, and be faithful witnesses of the Gospel as missionary disciples.” He hopes to help people truly know and believe in their identity as a child of God and to recognize where he’s calling them.
Dcn. Miguel will be ordained on July 3rd at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe, Texas. Please join us in praying for him as he prepares for the Sacrament of Holy Orders.
