Home parish: St. Philip Catholic Church, Battle Creek MI

Home diocese: Diocese of Kalamazoo

What was the highlight of your time at Sacred Heart Major Seminary?

I have greatly enjoyed my philosophical and theological studies.

What has been one or two highlights of your time serving as a transitional deacon?

Preaching and baptizing.

How are you preparing for your priestly ordination?

By meditating on the responsibilities that the priesthood brings, and a lot of prayer.

What kind of priest do you want to be?

I want to be a priest that is faithful to the truth of the Catholic faith, yet approachable, so as to be able to share that truth with others.

What are you looking forward to after being ordained?

Helping people encounter God’s mercy in the sacrament of reconciliation, leading the people of God in divine worship, and working alongside my brother priests in the Diocese of Kalamazoo.

Deacon Thomas will be ordained on June 4, 2022, at the Cathedral Church of Saint Augustine in Kalamazoo, by Bishop Paul Bradley.

Please join us in praying for him during his final months of preparation leading up to his ordination.
