Sacred Heart Major Seminary extends warm thanks to all who participated in this year’s Giving Heart Day on December 8th. The unfailing and tireless support of the seminary community makes it possible for Sacred Heart to continue forming the hearts and minds of priests, deacons, and lay leaders for service in the Church.
Each gift is so greatly appreciated, especially the prayers offered for the seminary faculty, for the lay students, and for those men continuing their journey to answer the call to the priesthood. Thanks to the generosity of our benefactors, Sacred Heart exceeded its goal of $15,000 this year, raising $17,238 (as of December 10th) for the continued formation and education of students and seminarians.
This education and formation is at the very heart of the seminary’s mission, and faculty and staff were overcome with gratitude at the day’s success.
Sacred Heart Rector and President Msgr. Todd Lajiness expressed his sincere thanks to donors. “I am deeply grateful for the success again this year of Giving Heart Day,” he said. “Even in the midst of so many challenges, the seminary community and our donors manifest deep devotion and support of our mission. Through the intercession of Mary, whose Immaculate Conception we celebrate on that day, may we be given the grace to continue our work of forming disciples for Christ.”
“My heart grew every time I saw another donation come in. I continue to be amazed at the generosity of our donors and friends of Sacred Heart,” said Emily Bershback, Director of Alumni Relations & Special Events.
If you haven’t done so, from now through the end of December, you are still able to participate and make a gift for Giving Heart Day and support Sacred Heart. Your prayers are always appreciated.
On behalf of the seminarians and lay students, thank you for your continued support and know that you are always in the prayers of the Sacred Heart community!
