Dear Friends in Jesus Christ,
God has blessed Sacred Heart Major Seminary abundantly over the years. We recently celebrated our Centennial as an institution of higher education and priestly formation and of the opening of our building. We are grateful for His generosity—and for your steadfast prayers and support of our mission.
This year, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, has once again invited men to discern a vocation to the priesthood, and those men have courageously responded by entering our seminary. Through your generosity, we are forming and educating these men as well as men studying for the permanent diaconate and scores of future lay ministers.
With your help and the hard work of our faculty and staff, we have maintained a high level of excellence. In the last year, our two accreditation agencies recognized Sacred Heart Major Seminary as an outstanding institution. As we enter the 105th academic year for our building and the 107th from the institution's beginning, our enrollment remains consistent despite the challenging culture in our world.
This year, to assist more individuals who want to grow in their faith life, we are offering parish satellite courses at three locations: St. John Vianney Parish in Shelby Township, St. Thomas More Parish in Troy, and Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Plymouth.
Additionally, we are thrilled to launch a new webinar series, "Sent on Mission from the Heart," which aims to connect mission-driven students and alumni with Catholic organizations, schools, parishes, and nonprofits in southeast Michigan.
I am grateful to God for Sacred Heart Major Seminary and all of you who generously support this community. Will you help us continue the excellent education and formation provided by Sacred Heart Major Seminary?
Your prayers and generous gifts are deeply appreciated. May God's blessings continue to abound for you and our beloved seminary.
Trusting in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ,
Very Rev. Stephen P. Burr
