Giving Heart Day 2021 Showcases the Generosity of Supporters

Thank You to all who supported us through donations and prayers!

Sacred Heart Major Seminary sends its sincere thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s Giving Heart Day on December 8th! It is because of the steadfast support and inspiring generosity to the seminary community that Sacred Heart continues strong in their mission of the formation of priests, deacons, and lay leaders of the Church.

Every gift is cherished, especially your prayers for the faculty, staff, and students of Sacred Heart. Each gift furthers the education and faith formation of students on their journeys to the priesthood, diaconate, and lay ministry, and by extension, shines the light of Jesus on each person they encounter on the road to their vocation. This critical work makes a powerful difference throughout our local communities and would not be possible without our generous supporters.

Emily Berschback, Director of Alumni Relations & Special Events, reflected on the success of the day, saying “What a beautiful day for Sacred Heart Major Seminary! Days like Giving Heart Day and everyday really, constantly remind me how blessed I am to work for Sacred Heart and how truly blessed we are to have the most wonderful and generous family of donors. Thank you for making Giving Heart Day 2021 a great success.”

As of the morning of December 9th, the total raised is $11,990. On this very special Giving Heart Day, Christian Financial Credit Union will generously match $10,000 of the total donated. Faculty and staff were overjoyed by the success of the day and the generosity of the Sacred Heart family.

Patty Campbell, President and CEO of Christian Financial Credit Union, shared why the work of the seminary is so close to her heart. “The mission of Sacred Heart Major Seminary is critically important, especially in our world today,” she said. “We’re proud to support Giving Heart Day to help nurture the next generation of priests and lay leaders to serve in our parish communities. I encourage everyone to prayerfully consider supporting this important organization.”

Fr. Stephen Burr, Rector /President of the seminary, highlighted the meaning of the day as he expressed gratitude to all donors: “Giving Heart Day is an opportunity to share in the mission of Sacred Heart Major Seminary as we form priests, deacons, and lay ecclesial ministers to provide a witness of Jesus Christ and faithfully serve His people. On behalf of the seminarians, lay students, staff, and faculty I thank you for your generosity.”

If you have not yet donated to Sacred Heart, from now through the end of December you are still able to participate and make a gift for Giving Heart Day to support the work of the seminary. Your continued prayers for our mission remain always appreciated.

On behalf of the seminarians and lay students of Sacred Heart, thank you! Your generosity is illuminated through our mission to bring Christ to our communities. Thank you for continuing to make our work possible. You are held in the prayers of all here at Sacred Heart.
